Better For Badger
Today’s Plan, Tomorrow’s Future
A plan to fund and improve Badger Community School
Badger Community School proudly provides students with small class sizes, personalized instruction, and top-notch educators. However, our district faces several financial challenges that impact our ability to protect these resources for students and present the need for additional locally approved funding. Our school building also requires maintenance and additional space to ensure it can meet the educational needs of today’s students.
On Tuesday, November 5, Badger Public School District will vote on a referendum that aims to strengthen student learning, avoid budget cuts, and invest in learning spaces at Badger Community School.
The referendum will ask voters to consider three ballot questions:
Questions One and Two ask voters to consider two operating levies. If approved, each operating levy question would provide $967.93 per-pupil annually for a 10-year term. This funding would directly support classroom materials, educational curriculum, teaching positions, and other student learning support.
Question Three asks voters to consider a $15.23 million building bond to invest in new spaces at Badger Community School for technical education and athletics and complete other renovations and improvements throughout our aging building.
The proposed plan provides residents with a choice between a short-term solution and long-term solution to our district’s funding gap, as well as an opportunity to address maintenance and learning space needs at Badger Community School.
